Still thinking about Lebanon

Roommate 3 was kind enough to lend me some of her pictures since my camera committed minor suicide during our trip. I had to recharge the battery twice, and still it lasted only a few hours before going kaput - these batteries are supposed to last months! My watch also stopped at 8.18 last night. I'm having bad battery luck of late, I guess.

So: here are images
of our lunch in Tyre (fish presumably just plucked from the sea - there's a lot of fishing going on in Lebanon), some of my food art in Beirut (it's a happy pita with lettuce hair!), the snow covered mountains and Mediterranean in Beirut, 3 and I seated in (on?) Tyre's ancient hippodrome, the hand of god (or rays of light, depending upon your spiritual bent) in Tyre, me on a column (unlike restricted historical sites in Greece, for instance, in Lebanon tourists can clamber all over the ancient ruins), and finally an adorable Lebanese lizard.

I wanted to catch a lizard and take him home to eat bugs in my apartment and be generally reptilian and adorable, but they are quick little beasts!

It's too bad. I would have named him Snoopy.
